Echinodermata
There are about 7,291 known species of Echinoderm, all of them being marine. They live in brackish or fresh water, in intertidal zones or as deep as the ocean floor. They feed on cryptomonads, mussels, and clams.
As larvae, Echinodems show bilateral symmetry, but as adults, they show pentamerous(five sides) symmetry. Most Echinoderms have a hard andoskeleton of calcerous ossicles(calcium carbonate bone-like structures). This dermis can fluctuate between hard and soft so it offers protection and mobility. They have a water vascular system, meaning that materials are transported through their bodies by water. Most species of Echinoderms have two genders.
